Agnieszka Wozniak, PhD is a molecular biologist with a comprehensive expertise in pharmacology, molecular biology, and (pre)clinical drug testing. Currently she is Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Experimental Oncology, Department of Oncology, KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Her research focuses on understanding the biology of selected sarcoma subtypes, the identification of potential therapeutic targets and testing of novel treatment approaches, using our unique platform of patient-derived xenograft mouse models of sarcoma (‘XenoSarc platform’), established by her group. She is also interested in identification of molecular biomarkers of response to novel cytotoxic and targeted agents, implementing high-throughput sequencing techniques to study tumor material and liquid biopsies from treated sarcoma patients. Her goal is to implement this multidisciplinary approach in research that has crucial therapeutic implications and will hopefully transform care for patients with sarcoma.
