Dr. Albina Allajbej was born in Albania. She received her primary and secondary school education in Albania and graduated from Mehmet Akif Turkish college in Tirana in 2005. She completed her undergraduate student internship in Medical Oncology Department at the San Paolo Hospital, Milan (Italy).
She graduated with a Medical doctor (MD) in 2014 from University of Milan in Italy. Thesis: Breast cancer in patients greater than 80 years old: analysis of mono-institutional experience, Mentor Prof. Paolo Foa.
In 2015 she served within a clinical research scholarship program in the department of Medical Oncology at the Legnano Civil Hospital, G. Fornaroli, Magenta, Milan (Italy).
She was board certified in Radiation Oncology in Italy in 2019. Thesis: The potential benefit of Proton Therapy in Oropharyngeal Cancer: Where are the evidences? Mentors: Prof. Vincent Grégoire, Prof. Domenico Genovesi. During her residency she visited Centre Léon Bérard, Lyon, France in 2019.
She attended ESTRO School - ESTRO course on Basic Clinical Radiobiology, Brussels (Belgium) and INTERACTS Course- Interventional Radiotherapy Active Teaching School, Gemelli ART, Università Cattolica Sacro Cuore, Gemelli, Rome in 2019.
From April 1st 2020 she is a consultant Radiation Oncologist at IRCCS National Cancer Institute Foundation in Milan. Her main clinical interests include Thoracic oncology (lung cancer, lung metastasis, mesothelioma, thymoma and thymic carcinoma), Adult’s sarcomas and rare tumors. She is an active member in multidisciplinary meeting of clinical cases and multidisciplinary evaluation of thoracic oncology and sarcoma patients.
She is a board member of quality and risk assessment. She is member of AIRO and ESTRO. She is co-author of several papers, abstracts/posters in AIRO/ESTRO congresses and co-investigator of clinical trials.
