Andrea Byrum is a postdoctoral fellow at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the lab of Dr. Steve Lessnick. She received a B.S. in biochemistry from Denison University and received her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Genomics from Washington University in St. Louis under the direction of Dr. Nima Mosammaparast. Andrea's thesis work investigated the DNA damage response in human breast cancer cells. Her current work is focused on the structure-function relationships of EWS-FLI and canonical ETS factors in Ewing sarcoma. Additionally, Andrea serves as chair of the NCH Research Institute Trainee Association, which advocates for trainees and provides opportunities for career advancement and development.
