Pathologist

Maria Rosa Ghigna, MD, PhD, is a pathologist at Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France. She earned her medical degree from Pavia Medical School (Italy). She completed a fellowship in Anatomic Pathology at Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris and a earned her PhD in physiology and physiopathology at University Paris –Saclay, France. Dr Ghigna’s reserach focus is thoracic and soft tissue pathology, with special interest in theranostic and immunologic prognostic factors in lung cancer. She is also interested in the applicability of artificial intellingence approaches in pathology practice. She is member of the of the French pathologist sarcoma network RRePs. She collaborates with National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) Unit 999 on the theme of thoracic vascular disease. Her work has appeared in many peer-reviewed publications, including Journal of Thoracic Oncology, European Respiratory Journal, CHEST and American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medecine.
