Christopher (Chris) Strickland received his MSW from the University of Georgia where he provided research assistance to UGA’s Foot Soldier Project for Civil Rights Studies. He supported several of the Project’s completed works, including the co-production of “Mary Frances Early: The Quiet Trailblazer.” While working towards his BA at Oglethorpe University, Chris founded the Oglethorpe Diversity Board, a student-led organization dedicated to campus inclusivity by developing educational programming and engaging in grassroot advocacy. Most recently, Chris has worked as a program assistant with United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Regional Commission on Homelessness, where he assisted in program development, donor proposal and grant writing, data analysis, and community capacity building. His research interests include community development theory and practice, critical race theory, program evaluation, and policy analysis.
