Dr. Cudore L. Snell has taught and conducted research at Howard University School of Social Work for the over 26 years. He is well-published and has presented across the world in countries like the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Sweden, South Africa, Australia and Canada. Dr. Snell has served on many professional and editorial boards and was a guest editor for a special issue of the Social Work and Public Health journal on African Partnerships. He is also the former Chair of the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Global Commission for Social Work Education. His work in the community and leadership as a board member for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) in both the local metropolitan and national chapters has led to his distinction as a Social Work Pioneer from the NASW. He is also the recipient of numerous awards including an award of appreciation for invaluable contributions from the Black Administrators in Child Welfare. Dr. Snell served as an ex-officio board member for the National Association of Deans and Directors of Schools of Social Work and maintains licensing as an independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in the District of Columbia. He is a member of numerous community service and civic organizations and in 2013, after 10 years of leadership as Dean, in the School of Social Work, Dr. Snell returned full-time to the faculty and continues to serve as professor and researcher. He was recently appointed as the Assistant Provost for International Programs at Howard University.
