Dr. Jovanna Gaines a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Board Certified Diplomate in Social Work, an Instructor, Prevention Project Coordinator, Practicum Student Supervisor and Research Affiliate at the University of Oklahoma School of Social Work. She brings over 30 years of social work experience to this position, working within the military and civilian setting providing mental health services, oversight and management . She attained her BSW in the School of Social Welfare at the State University of NY at Stony Brook, her MSW from Fordham University, in Lincoln Center, NY and completed her Doctorate in Social Work at Walden University. Jovanna recently retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of experience where she served as the Flight Commander of the Mental Health Clinic at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. She has been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and has led multiple resilience, treatment and policy initiatives throughout her career. Jovanna has worked in outreach, direct clinical care, administration, and management in substance abuse, mental health care and family violence programs. She is a dedicated, advocate for social change.
