Rawan Darouiche is a Master of Social Work Candidate at the University of Michigan. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her pathway is Welfare of Children and Families, with a specific focus in School Social Work. In the past, she has worked with high school students through the TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science Program.
Currently, she is a Social Work Intern at the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS). Through her role as intern, she is able to provide school-based and clinic based therapy to children, adolescents, and families. She is also a Research Assistant with the Trauma-Informed Programs and Practices for Schools (TIPPS) team at the University of Michigan. Her goal is to integrate trauma-informed practices into the school setting to promote an anti-racist and anti-oppressive environment.
