Associate Professor
Berkeley Social Welfare
Berkeley, California, United States
I am an associate professor in the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. My program of research addresses foundational gaps in the extant literature regarding the incidence and prevalence of child maltreatment, bullying perpetration and victimization, microaggressions, and polyvictimization for sexual and gender minority populations. Overall, my research and publications to date has focused on three interconnected areas: (1) advancing our understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender-based microaggressions, (2) utilizing minority stress and developmental victimology frameworks to identify the mechanisms bridging familial and extrafamilial forms of victimization for sexual and gender minority adolescents, and (3) identifying the rates and social ecological correlates of bullying involvement roles for vulnerable adolescent populations.
