Yasmin Al-Zubi is a second-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at the University of Texas at Arlington’s School of Social Work. Ms. Al-Zubi received her undergraduate education in psychology at the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Al-Zubi’s professional background is pediatric mental health, volunteering in childhood counseling, and serving as a research assistant on several social work research projects. Ms. Al-Zubi is passionate about building mental health treatment options for children exposed to violence, as her current thesis research explores reversing the desensitization of real-life violence among children. Ms. Al-Zubi hopes to expand her research by connecting neuropsychological science and social work research to inform social work practice and ethics to promote childhood wellbeing and security across diverse populations.
