Dr. Moon is a Professor and Carl and Martha Lindner Endowed Chair for Global Studies, at Garland School of Social Work, Baylor University. Prior to joining Baylor University, he was an associate professor and director of the Korea-based MSW program at the University of South Carolina. His research area is in mental health, substance abuse, and suicidal behavior among immigrant adolescents. He served as president of the Korean American Social Work Educators Association from 2009 to 2011. Since 2013, he has also served as secretary and is a member of the scholarship committee of the Asian and Pacific Islanders Social Work Education Association. Dr. Moon received a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in social work from the University of Georgia. He also holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity from the Korea Baptist Theological Seminary.
