Dr. Knapp began his educational history at Loyola University of Chicago where he first declared a chemistry degree. After a few semesters of taking different coursework, he fell in love with psychology and working with others. He switched his majors and graduated with his B.S. in psychology. Following his education at Loyola, he attended Aurora University and received his M.S.W degree and PEL endorsement. Knowing that he had a passion for education and research, he continued his educational journey at Capella University where he received his Ph.D.
His favorite course is research and statistics because the data received from clients helps inform the progress we make in our work with them. He has also taught classes regarding macro social work, crisis intervention, field/internships, women’s study, mental health, and various practice courses.
