Dr. Mustapha Alhassan is Director of the BSW Program and Associate Professor at the Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work. He obtained his PhD at the School of Social Work, University of Missouri-Columbia and MSW from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Alhassan teaches various courses at the Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work including Statistics and Methods of Social Research, Issues of Health Disparities for Minorities, Introduction to Social Work, Social Welfare Policy and Community-Based Health Care. Dr. Alhassan’s research focuses on the following areas: educational development in Ghana, health disparities as it impact minorities, skin color discrimination and human trafficking. He has published his research in professional peer-reviewed journals in the following areas: educational development in Ghana, health disparities, and skin color discrimination.
