Research Assistant
Butler Institute for Families, University of Denver, United States
Katie Golieb, MSW, is a Research Assistant with the Butler Institute for Families. In her role at Butler, she provides evaluation, coordination, and technical assistance services to partner child welfare agencies as a staff member of the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI). Katie has a range of experiences applying and navigating equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID) programs and initiatives, having served on the Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) Inclusive Excellence Committee from 2018-2021 and developing the curriculum for, and overseeing the implementation and evaluation of, the student-led anti-racist Action Book Clubs (ABC’s) program at the Morgridge College of Education (MCE) in 2020-2021. Katie currently balances her full-time role in research and evaluation as a third-year doctoral student pursuing a PhD in educational leadership and policy studies to: (1) develop a broader understanding of the public education system, policy changes that have the potential to positively impact children and families, and (2) explore how critically applied quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation can empower youth, families and communities through community-based research practices.
