Kasandra Dodd, MSW, is a third-year doctoral student, teaching assistant, and research assistant in the School of Social Work at the University of Georgia. She has several years of experience in child welfare, working with adolescents in foster care. Ms. Dodd accrued a wealth of knowledge as a case-carrying social worker, diagnostic therapist, Independent Living Specialist, and managing supervisor. Further, she influenced the development of various older youth initiatives through multiple workgroups and committees. Ms. Dodd’s research interest involves child welfare reform related to human trafficking within the foster care system, minority issues, the impact of leadership and management on permanency outcomes, reviewing child welfare workers’ work as first responders, and improving youth outcomes transitioning from the foster care system.
