Ronna Bañada (she/her) is a 3rd year PhD student at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work in occupied Tongva and Kizh territory. Her lived experience as a formerly undocumented, 1.5 generation Filipina American informs her research, which encompasses immigrant experiences across the life course: the impact of immigration status on mental health, health, and educational experiences, especially with Filipinxs, APIDA, and other communities of color. Prior to returning to school, Ronna worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has experience providing school- and community-based mental health services, clinical supervision, field instruction, program management, and advocacy.
