Dr. Abu-Bader is Professor and Director of the PhD Program at Howard University School of Social Work . Between August 2017-Auigust 2019 he served as the founding Dean of the School of Psychology and Social Work and the founding Chair of the MSW Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies in Doha, Qatar. He has written and presented research papers on work satisfaction and burnout among social workers, depression, life satisfaction, and self-esteem of frail elderly, and depression among former welfare recipients. Dr. Abu-Bader is the sole author of three statistical textbook on "Using Statistical Methods in Social Science Research" and "Advanced and Multivariate Statistical Methods for Social Science Research" by Oxford University Press. He is also the author and creator of the IOS Sample Size App “Abu-Bader Sample Size” available in the Apple App Store. In addition, Dr. Abu-Bader is serving on the Editorial Board of a number of peer-reviewed journals as well as on the Board of Directors of the Arab Center Washington, D.C. He has conducted numerous workshops and summer research institute on basic and advanced statistics, multivariate statistics, SEMs with AMOS, sample size and power analysis, and test construction in collaboration with Georgetown University and MedStar Research Institute.
