Renee Brean is Clinical Supervisor for the City of Rochester’s new Person in Crisis (PIC) team. Renee grew up in the Rochester area and began volunteering with homeless individuals in the City of Rochester. That lead her to Los Angeles where she ran a shelter for homeless young women. Weekly she would go out to Skid Row, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Watts and Compton to serve the homeless individuals. That experience led her to Lima, Peru to serve underprivileged individuals living in shantytowns. Renee then returned home to Rochester a year later to begin college. She received her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with Human Services Certificate, Bachelor in Science with Major Social Work, and Master in Social Work May of 2007. She also obtained her license in the state of New York. Renee had internships at Salvation Army, Child Protective Service, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital/URMC. Upon completion of degrees, Renee worked in the Emergency Department, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, CPEP & Mobile Crisis team, Oncology/Inpatient Hospice unit, and now for the newly created PIC team.
