Allison Gibson, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky's College of Social Work. Dr. Gibson’s academic training as a clinical social worker has prepared her to work with aging individuals and their families from a biopsychosocial perspective. She is affiliate faculty with Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. Her research focuses on testing biopsychosocial interventions for persons living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias (ADRD), as well as with their family caregivers. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and gerontological social work education. Dr. Gibson leads an education abroad trip annually to Ireland and Northern Ireland: SW 580- Exploring the Legacy of Injustice in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
