Suzanne Marmo, Ph.D., LCSW, APHSW-C is Assistant Professor of Social Work at Sacred Heart University. She is an Advanced Certified Palliative Hospice Social Worker and has been a licensed social worker since 2001 Her clinical expertise is in medical and oncology social work, hospice, palliative care and working with older adults. She is a board member of the Social Work Hospice and Palliative Care Network (SWHPN) and helps to coordinate the Sacred Heart University Interprofessional Palliative Care Committee. She has co-developed and teaches a graduate level course entitled Life, Loss & Transition to social work students and serves as a mentor to new palliative care social workers. Her research interests include the role of hospice and palliative care social workers in organizations, political palliative care social work, and social justice and equity in palliative care.
