Dr. Onick O. Lewis is the Bachelor of Social Work Program Director at Troy University’s School of Social Work and Human Services. Before his faculty appointment at Troy University, he worked at Glenville State College in Glenville, WV as the Student Support Services Director, a TRiO program for first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and a Doctorate in Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Onick was born in Jamaican, grew up in NE Washington, DC, and lived in WV from 2001-2015 before moving to Troy, Alabama. Currently, his research revolves around organizational buy-in, humanizing a workplace, and how leaders and leadership styles can harness more productive and happier employees. More specifically, his doctoral dissertation topic was An Exploration of Whether Job Satisfaction Predicts Subjective Well-Being Among Social Workers.
