Malikah Marrus began teaching at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the Fall 2020. She teaches social work courses and is the Director of Field Education for the BSW program. Malikah taught social work courses at Hood College including human rights, introduction to social work and electives in juvenile justice, forensic social work, and child abuse and neglect. Malikah was the Director of Field Education and coordinator for the 40 volunteer hours program. Ms. Marrus was the co-chair of the Mid-Atlantic Field Consortium. Prior to going to Hood College, Ms. Marrus taught a variety of courses for 4 years at Missouri State University, School of Social Work and created their forensic social work course.
Malikah Marrus received her BA in history with honors from Fisk University in 1992. Malikah Marrus received her MSW from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work in 2003 and was a Hartford AGIFT Fellow. As a student, Ms. Marrus presented at the First National Gerontological Social Work Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003. Malikah is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck Social Work.
Malikah has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences on social work and attorney collaborations as well as on the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
