Dr. Villodas is an assistant professor at George Mason University. Her research interests are on social determinants of mental health and the role of social connectedness in promoting health and wellness across marginalized groups (e.g., system involved youth and young adults and young people from socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods). Dr. Villodas has clinical experience with youth in foster care as well as children, youth, and adults in community health care settings. Villodas is a graduate of Nyack College (BA in English Writing), New York University (MSW) and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (PhD).
