Adrian J. Ballard, MSW, LCSW, is a PhD candidate and teaching fellow at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. He is a licensed clinical social worker, with clinical experience in assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy with adolescents, adults, and older adults. Ballard previously headed a treatment program for mandated adults charged with sex offenses or other problematic sexual behavior. Prior areas of work experience include adoptive family services, suicide prevention and crisis intervention, health care, medical education, non-profit, and corporate work.
Ballard's research interests focus on the role of sexual socialization in psychosocial functioning and social behavior, with a particular emphasis on innovation in primary prevention of non-consensual and coercive sexual behavior. Teaching experience and interests include human sexuality, cultural diversity, clinical practice skills, and research methods.
