Dr. Naynette Kennett, LCSW, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Georgia School of Social Work. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach and PhD in Social Work from the Whitney M. Young, Jr., School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, Georgia, and Tennessee. Currently, she teaches undergraduate and graduate social work courses (BSW, MSW & DSW), owns a private practice that provide telemental services in all three states (CA, GA, & TN), and provides clinical supervision to MSW interns and license eligible MSW clinicians. Dr. Kennett's clinical practice experience includes providing mental health services to children and families in foster care, crisis hotline, medical social work, individual, group and family therapy, psychiatric mobile response team, and breast cancer survivors. Dr. Kennett research interest includes, field education, cultural competence and clinical practice, trauma and mental health, chronic illness and the impact on mental health, and infant mental health. Dr. Kennett teaches in the areas of field education and clinical practice.
