Ms. Charlene Ingram, MSW is Director of Program Development and Support with the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bennett College. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Ingram is a national expert in kinship care. Ms. Ingram leads kinship training and consultation for CWLA. CWLA has been recognized throughout its history as a consistent, strong and non-partisan voice for children and families. As the nation’s oldest and largest membership organization, CWLA is devoted to engaging all individuals, organizations, and systems in promoting the safety, permanence and well-being of children and their families. To further the mission of preserving, protecting, and promoting the well-being of children, youth, and their families, CWLA’s work focuses on professional development of the workforce, advocacy and policy development, publication of child welfare materials, and consultation to child welfare agencies and community organizations. As the nationally recognized standard-setting organization, CWLA provides sound perspective on generally accepted child welfare principles and standards. It also recognizes that local conditions create unique circumstances and expectations, and that solutions to organizational problems must be responsive to these conditions.
