Michelle Bialeck has been working with at-risk youth and underserved, immigrant families for almost two decades. She currently runs a community-based program, Mt. Carmel Teen Project, in the Belmont area of the Bronx, and heads a federally-funded outreach initiative exploring new outreach modalities for people suffering from Opioid Use Disorder. Michelle has contributed to national research on perceptions of school safety (results presented in the 2019 CSWE APM) as well as a CUNY-based longitudinal study on the impact of attaining DACA in mixed-legal status families. Michelle has taught and run community programming at Fordham University. Currently, Michelle is part of the adjunct faculty at Yeshiva University and is looking forward to attaining a PhD in social welfare in the coming months.
