Dr. Janet Vizina-Roubal recently completed her Doctorate of Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. She holds an M.S.W. from the University of Michigan. She has been teaching full time in higher education since 2007 and is currently the MSW Program Director for Ferris State University. Her recent professional research focus has included technology-mediated social work practice where she has been called upon to present at national and international conferences on her research. Her prior clinical experience includes working in a school setting as well as providing outpatient services to severe and persistently mentally ill clients specializing in DBT, depression, bi-polar, trauma within the school setting and anger management. Her current clinical focus is on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).Dr. Vizina-Roubal primarily teaches in the M.S.W. program. Her engaging classroom presence is showcased in the following M.S.W. courses: Advanced Micro Practice with Children, Adults, and Families; Advanced Policy and Advocacy; and Field Seminar.
