Dr. JoNataye A. Prather is the Social Work Program Chair and Professor at Union Institute University. is an education coach and transformational speaker. Her passion is to support all learners to navigate through academic and non-academic obstacles to empower them to achieve their degree and career dreams. Dr. JoNataye is a servant leader with over 15 years experience in the education and non-profit fields as a college professor and administrator, school social worker and non-profit consultant. Students, educators and human service practitioners nationwide have benefited from her training, compassion, and spirit of enthusiasm to transform their organization, professional and personal lives. Dr. JoNataye wrote the forward and conducted the research for the book, "The Best College Student Survival Guide Ever Written" and she is the author of the book “Don’t Even Think About Getting Your PhD Without Reading this Book First.” Dr. JoNataye received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and African-American Studies (1999), Master’s in Social Work (2001), and PhD (2010) from The Ohio State University. Dr. JoNataye loves to travel; she’s a foodie and enjoys spending quality time hanging-out with family and friends.
