Débora Silva Viana is a Brazilian Ph.D. student in social work at Colorado State University. While living in the U.S., she has worked in public health and secondary and higher education, primarily serving low-income and immigrant individuals. Her work experience serving these populations and her personal experience navigating the U.S. immigration system fostered her interest in public policy in general and immigration policy in particular. Débora is interested in using quantitative and qualitative methodologies to increase awareness about the U.S. immigration system, change immigration policy attitudes, and support advocacy for immigrants' rights. She is also passionate about teaching students, having taught classes on public policy, diversity, power, and oppression.
