Omowunmi Olaleye, BSc., MSW, started her career in accounting where she had some field experiences at Smith Ighodalo Adewale Odiachi (S.I.A.O) accounting firm, Lagos, Nigeria, and Beckley Roberts & Co Accounting firm, Lagos, Nigeria before moving into the banking industry to work with Guaranty Trust Bank plc, Lagos, Nigeria. After rising to a supervisory position, she switched her career path into humanitarian service. She earned her master’s degree from Troy University, Troy, Alabama, U.S.A. And have worked in several agencies to solidify her experiences in her new career path. She worked in Troy group home, East Central Mental Health, and child protection unit of the Alabama Department of Human Resources, Birmingham, Alabama, U.S.A. She founded Chance and Choice Support Initiative for Vulnerable Children a non-profit organization in Nigeria born out of a sincere passion to see children strive in an emotionally stabled home as they transition into adulthood. This organization provides counseling support for children and families as they return to normalcy. Omowunmi is currently a doctoral student at the University of Kansas School of social welfare where she works as a Graduate Research Assistant (G.R.A) on the ABC early childhood initiative project.
