Jeannine Meza is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Assistant Director of Field Education at UMass Global. Jeannine Meza’s primary responsibilities at UMass Global include assessing students’ readiness for field practicum and directing the matching process; developing and overseeing student internship sites and seminar curriculum; and teaching field seminar classes. Prior to serving at UMass Global, she served as faculty in social work and Title IV-E Field Coordinator at California State University, San Bernardino from 2012-2018. She received the “Most Inspiring Professor” award in 2015 and “Most Outstanding Faculty Member” award in 2016 from the CSUSB Social Work Student Association. She received the BASW Faculty of the Year in May 2022. She has 22 years of social work experience working primarily in child welfare, child and adolescent mental health, juvenile justice, and school social work settings. She served as a field instructor and agency supervisor for 11 years. She serves on the board of directors for CASA of San Bernardino County and is a faculty advisor for the UMass Global Social Work Student Association. She serves as a faculty equity advisor through UMass Global’s Office of Equity and Inclusion. Jeannine Meza earned her M.S.W. at the University of Southern California and her B.A. in Psychology at UCLA. She is currently working on her D.S.W. at Simmons University with an anticipated graduation date of May 2023.
