Amber Ramirez is an Associate Professor and Assistant Director of Field Education with University of Massachusetts (UMass) Global. She earned both her BSW and MSW degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California. In her capacity at UMass Global, Amber Ramirez teaches in the Social Work Department and she works with a team in developing and maintaining all community collaborations and partnership with agencies and organizations that host social work students. She manages, coordinates, and monitors social work field placement internships. Amber Ramirez has experience in providing services at micro, mezzo and macro levels. Her clinical experience is providing therapeutic services to children, women and families. This experience were in school settings, shelters, and full-service partnership program settings that primarily focused on children with problem behaviors, youth in the juvenile justice system and women facing issues domestic violence and sexual assault. Amber Ramirez has spent most of her career focused on more mezzo and macro work affecting change at a community and organizational level. She has extensive experience in the substance abuse and violence prevention and youth development field within nonprofits, county, and department of education settings. She held multiple leadership positions in a variety of those settings focusing on program management, development, assessments, and evaluation. Her experience extends to fund development to include grant writing, proposal development, fundraising, and donor solicitation.
