Courtney E. Rovere, LCSW(NY), LICSW(MA) is a Clinical Social Worker and is the Policy and Practice Specialist at the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, a non-profit child welfare agency based in Poughkeepsie, New York. Courtney is a Doctoral Candidate in Social Work at Simmons University. Over the past eight years, Courtney has been working in the field of children’s behavioral health and child welfare. As the former Director of Community Based Services at the Children’s Home Courtney has worked diligently on program development and strategic planning at the Children’s Home, expanding the array of community-based programming offered to families. Along with her expertise in child welfare, Courtney has worked in community mental health, mobile crisis and in diverse medical and behavioral healthcare settings. Courtney has experience teaching at the bachelor and master levels, having served as adjunct faculty in the Social Work Department at Marist College and in the School of Social Work at Simmons University. She has taught courses in child & adolescent assessment and diagnosis, social policy and social work with communities and organizations, and introduction to sociology. Courtney’s scholarly research focuses on child welfare worker stress and well-being and the trauma-informed organizational setting. Her aim is to better understand the experiences of women in the workforce and how implementation of targeted interventions at the organizational level can help reduce burnout and turnover while improving outcomes for women, children and families.
