Dr. Julie Clockston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has worked in intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1996. Dr. Clockston earned her Post-Masters Certificate in College Teaching and online instructional design in 2016 and her Doctor of Social Work degree in Social Work from Capella University in 2019. Dr. Clockston is the owner and lead therapist of Julie Clockston Counseling LLC and Co-Founder of SOAR Colorado, an organization dedicated to enhancing individuals living with developmental/intellectual disabilities. Dr. Clockston is an Assistant Professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver in the Social Work Department. She serves on the DEI committee as Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Department Co-Coordinator BSSW, BIPOC, Neurodiversity, and Disability Student Support Liaison, and DEI University staff senate consultant. She is a member of The Colorado Child Welfare Scholars Consortium as the BSSW Faculty Representative. Dr. Clockston serves as President of the Association for Successful Parenting (TASP), an international organization committed to enhancing families' lives when parents have learning difficulties. Furthermore, she is the most recent former President for NASW Colorado 19-22.
