Tami Walker, LMSW is an Assistant Professor of Practice and Field Coordinator with the University of Tennessee College of Social Work (UTCSW). Prior to joining UTCSW Tami worked in the non-profit sector spanning local, national and international organizations. She has worked primarily in residential settings including managing a large domestic violence center. Most recently she worked with Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago as a policy analyst providing consultation to child welfare systems across the country. Tami has also been a field instructor, field liaison and adjunct profession at the University of Louisville, Kent School of Social Work and UTCSW.
Tami's professional interests include: educating and inspiring social work students, creating psychologically safe and trauma informed organizational cultures and engaging in the political process.
