Dr. Bobbie Johannes isa National Institute on Aging post-doctoral fellow at the University of Michigan’s Population Studies Center. Shereceived herPhD in health policy and administration with a dual concentration in demography from Penn State university in 2020 and hermaster’s in public health from the Penn State College of Medicine in 2015. Prior to that she received herbachelor’s degree in biology in Spanish from Albright college in 2013. Herresearch broadly focuses on how the healthcare system can be used as an intervention to improve ruralpopulation health disparitiesand her work has been published in journalssuch as Social Science and Medicine,Population Healthand Primary Care Research and Development.Dr. Johannes’sresearch has been funded byfellowships from Penn State Tobacco Center on Regulatory Science as well as the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute. She recently received an Institute for Social Research Next Generation Award from the University of Michigan.
