Cheryl A. Hyde is Associate Professor at Temple University School of Social Work. At Temple University, Dr. Hyde has served as Associate Dean and MSW Program Director. Her primary areas of teaching and scholarship are community capacity building, social capital and civil society, organizational change, ethics in macro practice, multiculturalism, and social movements. She is widely published in these areas and also has offered a variety of training and educational workshops on these topics. Recently, she completed the DHHS funded "Building Capacities/Making Connections" Partnership Grant, which analyzed the social capital of low income participants in a health industry job training program, and served as the PI/Coordinator for the HRSA funded "Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students" program. At present, she is co-PI and Evaluator for ReCAST Philadelphia (SAMSHA funded), which focuses on addressing community violence and trauma. Dr Hyde is the recipient of the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching from Temple University (2022) and the College of Public Health, Excellence in Teasching Award (2021). She chairs School of Social Work's Macro Concentration. Dr. Hyde is on several editorial board member and is reviewer for a number of social work and social science journals. Currently, she is a chair of ACOSA. She received her MSW (Community Organizing) and PhD (Sociology/Social Work) from the University of Michigan.
