Cheryl Williams-Hecksel, MSSW, LMSW joined the faculty of the School of Social Work at Michigan State University in 2006. She has taught BSW and MSW courses that include electives in child welfare and clinical practice with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. She coordinates the School’s Evidence Based Trauma Treatment Certificate and is a project coordinator for the National Child Welfare Workforce Institutes (NCWWI) University Partnerships traineeship programs. She provides frequent professional continuing education related to ethics, supervision and child trauma. Prior to joining the faculty at MSU Cheryl has more than 20 years of clinical and administrative experience in public and private child welfare and mental health agencies.
