Mark Trahan, PhD, LCSW, is an associate professor of Social Work at Texas State University. Dr. Trahan completed his doctorate at the University of Houston with focus on research in paternal self-efficacy. Dr. Trahan researches self-efficacy, with particular attention to veterans, fathers, and incarcerated men. Dr. Trahan’s efficacy research includes the use of technology, specifically designing, prototyping, implementing, and evaluating virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) solutions for improved efficacy. Current projects include VR/360 Video applications paired with a mindfulness therapeutic intervention for addressing social anxiety and avoidance symptoms in returning combat veterans. Dr. Trahan utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methods in his data analysis and has published in high impact factor journals in psychology and social work.
