Patricia Kohl, PhD is an associate professor at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Her scholarship is focused on understanding children’s experiences within the context of families and their environment, and on adapting, implementing and sustaining evidence-based interventions to improve child safety and well-being outcomes. Dr. Kohl’s work encompasses the prevention and treatment of child maltreatment, as well as the promotion of healthy child development, in the US and globally. She has received financial support from the Institute for Public Health at Washington University, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institute of Mental Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She teaches several courses at the Brown School including Social Work Practice with Children in Families, Social Work Practice in Early Childhood, International Child Welfare, and Policy and Services for Children and Families.
