Ceema Samimi is interested in examining systemic support for youth power. Their interests include alternatives to incarceration and restorative practices as a tool for organizations and agencies to recognize youth power. They are specifically interested in how policies and structures of youth-serving organizations are influenced by legacies of colonization. Ceema earned their MPA at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, MSSW at Columbia University, and PhD at The University of Denver. Ceema is a faculty member in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
