Director of Therapeutic & Peer-Led Services
The Children's Village, United States
Kaylene Quinones is a licensed social worker who works with youth and families for The Children’s Village in the Community Based Services (CBS) Department for the past ten years. Over the past eight years, Kaylene has developed programs within the CBS department including the BraveLife Initiative, which was a federally funded initiative to develop a model that can be replicated across the country to prevent homelessness in youth transitioning out of foster care. This model which utilizes peer navigators with lived experience is now being replicated in the state of New Jersey for their Department of Children and Families. She has brought youth voice, choice, and the peer-to-peer model to the forefront of evidence-based programming. Kaylene is currently the Director of Therapeutic and Peer-Led Services as she has now taken on the Therapeutic Foster Home Program within CBS, yet another program she is building with her expertise.
Kaylene is also an adjunct professor and field instructor at Fordham University. Kaylene was one of the founding members of Bravehearts M.O.V.E. N.Y., which is a youth movement and non-profit mentored under The Children’s Village based in Westchester County. Kaylene has also been the project coordinator for Bravehearts Village and BraveLife Summit; both which brought young people and professionals together to empower each other and learn from one another.
Kaylene has dedicated her life to empower and motivate others, as well as being a change agent to positively impact future generations.
