Sandra Leotti is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at the University of Wyoming. Her substantive area of research examines social work’s engagement with criminalized women and the expanding boundaries of carceral control. Her work explores social work as a form of neoliberal governance and propels a shift in emphasis from individualized service delivery to launching interventions that tackle structural injustice and inequity. Sandy is also interested in the role of discourse and knowledge production in (re)producing power relations and dominant ways of knowing and thinking. Sandy’s teaching and scholarship is driven by an emphasis on social justice and aims to strengthen the relationship between critical and feminist theories and social work education, research, and practice.
