Kimberly (Kim) Carter is an Associate Professor in the social work department at Southern University-Edwardsville (SIUE). She currently holds the position as Department Chair and Practicum Director. She has worked as a social worker in public health and mental health organizations for years assisting with varied research projects, community education, and program evaluation initiatives. Her research interests include health and mental health care disparities, particularly as it concerns ethnic minority populations; non-profit organizational effectiveness, and teaching pedagogues that involve service learning and distance education. She currently teaches courses on Group Work Practice, Mental Health, Non Profit Organizational Development, and Human Behavior Theory for Micro and Macro Practice.
