Al-Maadeed is a current Ph.D. Social Work Scholar at Howard University. Al-Maadeed obtained her Bachelor's and Master's of Social Work with concentration in policy and administration of community practices from Arizona State University (ASU). She founded a refugee dedicated project "Global Market" and served as its administrative coordinator while working at the Office of Vice-Mayor Laura Pastor in Phoenix 2017-2018. She also developed partnerships between nonprofits and for-profits to establish a community dental clinic in Gilbert City, AZ.
Alyaa earned the "Knowledge Mobilization Award" from the Graduate College at Arizona State University in 2018. She was also recognized by the Youth Committee of the Ministry of Culture of Qatar in 2019, selected as an Influential Character.
She is a community representative at the Primary Health Care Corporation IRB subcommittee, Qatar. She has collaborated with family physicians on nationally published research during COVID-19 to screen for the psychological effects of home isolation on Children and Adolescents in Qatar. Alyaa
received a Social Impact Measurement Certification from ASU in 2020. With that, she provides training to centers to progress their evaluation practices.
Currently, she is the first Qatari woman lecturer at the Social Work Master's Program in Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. She served as its field education coordinator during the establishment of the program. Through her academic career, she hopes to empower evaluation practices in the social sector.
