Dr. Maryam Rafieifar is an Assistant Professor in Social Work and Child Advocacy at Montclair State University. Her research focuses on the well-being of disenfranchised children and families using community-based participatory methods. Her translational objective is to mitigate the effects of immigration enforcement on trauma among children born to immigrant families through examining and advocating for community-based initiatives. Rafieifar has worked with immigrant communities through her involvement in local and international organizations, including the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
