Briana Kohlbrenner, MSW, is a Project Director at the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, leading the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) grant funded through HRSA. Briana is also a coach through the Regional Institute for Health & Environmental Leadership (RIHEL) and a Certified Trainer of the Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) through Second Wind Dreams.
She received her Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Vermont and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver, with a specialization in Aging Services and Policy. Briana has a professional background as a Case Manager, serving adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
Briana has a passion for geriatric care and has involved herself in the aging community in as many ways as she can, ranging from volunteer work to professional employment. She serves on Colorado’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Advisory Committee for creating a state plan. She is also certified as an Eden Alternative Associate.
Briana uses her social work framework to apply a lens of advocacy, trauma-informed care, and social justice to all her work. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and writing. She also loves spending time with her furry friends!
