Dr. Enriquez received her doctorate in social work from USC Suzanne Dowark-Peck School of Social Work in Los Angeles, CA, August, 2021. She received her MSSW and BSW from UTPA in Edinburg, Texas. She earned her LCSW in 2011 and became a Texas State Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in 2017. Her focus of study and research are in grief, loss, traumatic bereavement, hospice, palliative care and working with Latino survivors of suicide loss. She currently works as a Clinical Associate Professor at UTRGV School of Social Work. She has worked for UTRGV School of Social Work for 11 years. Dr. Enriquez is highly involved in the community designing service learning projects for students enriching experiences in the field of grief, loss and traumatic bereavement. She conducts workshops, training, and presentations on different end of life topics. Family grief workshops and strengthening families activities are designed in partnerships with school social workers in various local school districts. Dr. Enriquez has a small private practice offering individual, family, couples and group counseling. She serves as a consultant for local hospice agencies designing evidenced-based social work and bereavement programs meeting federal and state standards specifically addressing the needs of the Latino population. She resides in San Juan, TX with her spouse of 39 years and her dog, Maverick.
