Dawn M. Joosten-Hagye, PhD, LCSW, obtained her PhD in Social Welfare from University of California, Los Angeles. She is an Associate Professor of Social Work at the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at USC. She teaches advanced practice courses with an emphasis in Integrated Health and Behavioral Health evidence-based practices with adults, older adults and families. She is the lead Social Work faculty in the Interprofessional Education and Collaboration in Geriatrics program at USC. She engages in IPE locally in USC IPE initatives, and both nationally and internationally in a multi-university Virtual Interprofessional Education (VIPE) collaboration. She is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked per diem for Providence Health Services in the South Bay and Orange County, CA since 2001 as both a medical social worker and wellness clinician. She specializes in working with adults, older adults, their families and caregivers living with and managing chronic, life-threatening, co-morbid and co-occurring conditions. Her research focus is on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice. She is author of a textbook released in 2019 titled "Social Work Practice with Older Adults: An Evidence-based Approach" and is the primary editor for a textbook released in 2022 titled "Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice: International Perspectives at Micro, Meso and Macro Levels" (Joosten-Hagye & Khalili, eds.).
